With the rapid development of new technologies such as the Internet+, big data, and the Internet of Things, the trend of universal interconnection and ubiquitous data is becoming increasingly apparent. The deep integration of digital intelligent technologies represented by artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things with traditional industries is both a future trend and a necessary choice to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Taking the textile dyeing industry as an example, the textile dyeing industry is a traditional industry in China and an important pillar industry. While supporting economic development and bringing benefits, it faces multiple problems such as low digitalization and asymmetric information between upstream and downstream, which restricts its production and development. In today's information age, how to introduce high-tech technologies into the dyeing industry and change the face of the traditional dyeing industry has become an urgent problem to solve.
Great times require a grand vision, and a grand vision requires great responsibility. Recently, Guangdong Polytechnic jointly held a lecture on "Digital Solutions for Digital Intelligent Laboratories and Bridge Technology for Complete Dyeing Lines" with Guangzhou Hongjing Lab Equipment Co., LTD, discussing the digital development of the dyeing industry and solutions for complete dyeing lines with dyeing majors graduates. Efforts are made to enhance their technological advantages, promote the development of the digital intelligent dyeing and finishing industry, and drive the upgrading of the dyeing industry chain.
Wen Shuiping, Dean of the School of Light Industry and Materials, Guangdong Polytechnic, delivered an opening speech, expressing full affirmation of the knowledge lecture jointly held with Guangzhou Hongjing Lab Equipment Co., LTD.
Wen Shuiping, Dean of the School of Light Industry and Materials, Guangdong Polytechnic
He hopes that this lecture will allow students to understand the current situation and trends of the industry, learn more about the industry's development needs, adjust their career development plans in a timely manner, and allow graduates to write a new and brilliant chapter in their lives. Facing the changes of the times, Dean Wen hopes that students will step out of the ivory tower and into the torrent of society, accepting new ways of thinking and growing into a new force for social development.
He said that many traditional industries have benefited from the transformation and upgrading of digital technology. Today, every enterprise, whether traditional or emerging, must consider the transformation and upgrading of digitalization.
Mr. Huang shared his experiences from his years in school and the huge impact of digital development on his career with the students. He summarized the past and present situation of the dyeing and finishing industry, fully affirmed the future development trend of the dyeing industry and the application of intelligent digitalization, and hoped that students would enhance their workplace competitiveness through intelligent digitalization. No matter which industry they develop in the future, as long as they do every single thing meticulously and to the extreme, their lives will have different landscapes and broader prospects.
Zhu Muyan, Professor, School of Light Industry and Materials, Guangdong Polytechnic
Zhu Muyan, a specially appointed visiting professor at Guangdong Polytechnic, gave a wonderful 40-minute lecture for the students. Professor Zhu first introduced the four pain points of the lack of bridge technology in knitting dyeing plants, highlighting the sharp contrast between traditional manual sample making and intelligent digital sample making in the dyeing industry. He explained the matching and simulation process of laboratory sample making and large-vat dyeing in the workshop, and analyzed in detail the performance differences and advantages and disadvantages of different heating methods for sample making machines, as well as the importance of bridge technology and intelligent digitalization to the direct-through rate.
Professor Zhu introduced the importance of bridge technology and intelligent digitalization to the direct-through rate.
Chen Baiming, Application Engineer, Guangzhou Hongjing Lab Equipment Co., LTD
Chen Baiming, an application engineer at Guangzhou Hongjing Lab Equipment Co., LTD, has been working in dyeing plants for over 20 years. He has witnessed the development of dyeing plants from manual sample making to the connection of intelligent digital laboratories with large-vat production, sharing what an intelligent laboratory is and how to use digitalization to build the entire laboratory's intelligent color measurement, sample making, and reproduction process.

In June 2021, China's textile and apparel exports totaled US$125.153 billion
According to customs statistics, in June 2021, China's exports of textile yarn, fabrics, and made-up articles totaled US$12.5153 billion; from January to June 2021, China's exports of textile yarn, fabrics, and made-up articles totaled US$68.558 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 7.4%; from January to June 2020, China's exports of textile yarn, fabrics, and made-up articles totaled US$74.0173 billion.
Driven by the sustained recovery of domestic and international market demand, the economic operation of China's dyeing industry has further consolidated its recovery trend. From January to May, the output of dyed fabrics has significantly increased compared to the pre-epidemic period, and the industry's operational efficiency has accelerated its recovery. Exports continue to grow, but the trend of "increasing volume but falling prices" has yet to be reversed, and the industry still faces considerable competitive pressure in exports.
The "Belt and Road" initiative unlocks new opportunities for China's industrial textile market
In recent years, with the rapid economic development of countries and regions along the Belt and Road Initiative, such as Southeast Asia and Africa, and the moderate growth in demand from traditional markets such as Europe, America, Japan, and South Korea, overall market demand will be further released, providing Chinese enterprises with further opportunities to expand market space and creating favorable market conditions for the development of China's industrial textile industry.
Riding the wave of national trends, leading domestic textile and apparel brands benefit
Population iteration and Gen Z-led consumption are the main forces driving the rise and evolution of the national trend. From the supply side, leading domestic brands have been steadily improving their internal capabilities in recent years, narrowing the gap with their overseas competitors in brand building, retail operations, supply chain capabilities, and digital system construction, and continuously adapting to and leading the deepening of the national trend.
